Former Reading Football Club and Welsh international striker, Simon Church, joined us for a Q+A at the latest #NetworkRoyals networking lunch yesterday, as did 60+ businesses from across Berkshire and afar!
Set in the stunning newly refurbished ‘Club 106’ lounge at the Madejski Stadium, Simon gave an insight into his playing career, which started as an Academy graduate at the Royals, before injury forced him into an early retirement aged just 29. However, the ex-Reading front man had already been planning for life after football, building his own property portfolio from just the age of 20. Then, when struck with a career-ending injury so young, the transition into business and starting his own business – Church Investments – made retirement an easier process than it had been for some of his ex-fellow professionals.
Following Simon’s talk, new Network Royals Business Club members were introduced, including Smart PA and B2B Expos.
Representatives from the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre were in attendance and on hand to answer any event queries. Interested in hosting an event at the Madejski Stadium? Contact them here.
Tim Kilpatrick from the Reading FC commercial team was in attendance to discuss sponsorship opportunities available at Madejski Stadium. Contact Tim here.
The next Network Royals Business Club networking lunch takes place on Wednesday 18th September (12.00-2.30pm). Find more details and book here.
