The Specialist Works company awards evening, The What’s Possible Group Awards, is a staple in their staff social calendar. Usually a big event at a venue where they invite staff across all their offices to come together to kick off the year and celebrate achievements from the year previous. Due to COVID restrictions, that couldn’t happen in 2021.

The team at The Specialist Works asked us to deliver an event that replicated the running and the feel of the live experience as possible.

This was the result.

A custom designed company branded virtual floor plan. 120 staff in attendance. Spread over 2 floors. 8 awards. Staff fancy dress. Post awards drinks in a company branded virtual pub (Network My Pub).

Their aim? Reward staff for hard work and mimic the comedy value of their in-person awards evening online.

Our aim? Ensure the 120+ strong attendees were able to use the platform to it’s full capabilities. Provide a life like experience for them and encourage audience participation.

Huw & Matt Hosting The Event

Bradley and Anders from the Network My Club team split between both floors, ensuring new visitors to the Remo platform were able to use it effectively and assist with any tech issues. Bradley was liaising with the key organising committee at The Specialist Works throughout, helping them and ensuring it ran to schedule.

Huw and Matt, The Specialist Works hosts, kicked off the event by screen sharing a video they’d created especially. They then ran through a quick fire presentation thanking members of staff.

The awards then began, with Huw and Matt inviting award winners up on screen to thank them personally in front of all the staff involved.

Breaking from the awards, staff were encouraged to take part in a fancy dress competition. Huw and Matt got involved too as you’ll see above.

Staff were asked to vote in competitions, using the Q&A feature to upvote nominees. Winners were invited on screen and presented prizes.

The party had to continue. We opened Network My Pub for a further two and a half hours after the event for staff to continue mingling and some extra time to finish the cocktails from the cocktail making sets they’d been sent!
