County Business Clubs came to us with an idea. To run a virtual awards night that allows for audience participation, celebrate and recognise achievements from Sussex businesses, and raise money for charity.
The result was the inaugural Virtual Business Awards Sussex.
Using a bespoke virtual awards evening floor plan, the event included open networking, entertainment from a magician, experience boxes and post awards networking and drinks at Network My Pub.
Utilising the Chat feature during the event to share the donation link, the event also raised over £1,000 for Rockinghorse Children’s Charity!
Their aim? To engage, celebrate and recognise the achievements from businesses across Sussex in 2020.
Our aim? To provide a floor plan that mimics a prestigious venue, and give the experience and format that replicates an in-person awards evening. With added interactivity for sponsors and attendees.

Sponsors were given a ‘VIP’ area situated in the corner of the room, including company named table and logo. Attendees were pre-assigned tables. Businesses were given the option to book private 5-person tables or singular tickets.
Attendees were encouraged to mingle around the room at their own pace in between awards, engage with one another using the Chat Box feature and enjoyed some entertianment from a virtual magician!

Award Winners Were Invited Up On Screen
Alongside Sam Thomas, Managing Director of County Business Clubs, Bradley from the Network My Club team hosted the event throughout. This included engaging with sponsors on screen, displaying pre-recorded videos and inviting the six award winners on screen once they’d been announced!
Members of the Network My Club team were present during the event to assist. Anders sat on the Help Desk throughout to assist with any technical issues attendees faced. Claudia welcomed attendees to the event on the Reception Desk.
Such was the success of the event and response from attendees, plans to run future awards nights in 2021 have began.
